No name in lights . . . but, close enough for now

I photographed Paul F Tompkins a short while back. Great guy – very funny and a pleasure to shoot.

So he is now hosting a show called “Best Week Ever” on VH1. Very funny show. Wicked funny commentary on Pop Culture.

Apparently he [and they] like his shots – because one of them is now hanging on a sign high above Times Square in NYC.

Love the look – love the photo – love the placement.

And for just a moment or two, I feel kind of proud and just a little bit special.

Perhaps it’s not my name in lights on the Broad-way . . . but for now, it’s close enough for me.

Back to the Coast

OK, so I am loving the Cambria. The central coast of California is beautiful in every season. What an amazing place to bring in the New Year.

To celebrate the beginning of 2009, I spent time with friends Scott and Peter staying in their beautiful home in Cambria. Wonderful friends, a relaxing long weekend, and a fairly decent job of following the recipes of Ina Garten (if I do say so myself). What more could one possibly need?

Walks along the cliffs of Cambria: beautiful any time of day.

The Polar Bear Plunge in Cayucas: Apparently this happens in many places around the world.  12 noon on January 1 seems to be the time to dash into the ocean and embrace the New Year. Truly an exciting and stimulating thing to do and witness. Perhaps I will put this on my bucket list at some point, but for now . . . I am happy to be one who applauds and enjoys watching the bravery of others.

The Sea Lions of San Simeon: What a life. Sleeping in the sun along a beautiful coast line. They are actually cute in a large sort of way.

A fantastic time and an awesome start to a brand new year.791email
